Spider-Man: Brand New Day Review: Marvel's Record-Breaker Still Fills Thessaloniki Screens
Spider-Man: Brand New Day overtook Star Wars: The Force Awakens as the highest-grossing domestic release ever, but critics and audiences split over it: a record 98% Rotten Tomatoes audience score against a comparatively soft 90% from critics, many pointing to how much runtime Sadie Sink's Jean Grey reveal takes from Peter Parker's own arc. Nine weeks after release, Mood's Thessaloniki listings still show 12 screenings across three cinemas this week, fourth by volume in the city's current 31-title programme, right behind Resident Evil and Minions & Monsters.

Parallel Tales Review: Farhadi's Cannes Provocation Fills Athens Screens
Asghar Farhadi's Parallel Tales (Histoires Parallèles) premiered at Cannes 2026 to a seven-minute standing ovation and a critical mauling - Rotten Tomatoes has it at 19 percent, Metacritic at 41. Isabelle Huppert leads as a novelist spying on her neighbors, with Virginie Efira, in a praised dual role, Vincent Cassel, Pierre Niney and Catherine Deneuve. Four months on, it is the widest-playing non-blockbuster title in Athens: 78 screenings across 23 venues, from the arthouse screen Cinobo Opera to the city's last open-air cinemas of the season. Full showtimes and cinema listings are on Mood.

Coyote vs. Acme Review: The Movie Warner Bros. Almost Buried
Coyote vs. Acme is a Warner Bros. comedy that Warner Bros. Discovery shelved as a 2023 tax write-off before Ketchup Entertainment rescued it and released it on August 28, 2026, to a 95% Rotten Tomatoes score. Wile E. Coyote, still hand-drawn, sues the Acme Corporation with a washed-up lawyer played by Will Forte. Three weeks into release it remains one of the widest bookings in Los Angeles, playing at 22 of the 115 movie theaters Mood tracks in the city this week, a wider spread than any other recent release except Resident Evil and Practical Magic 2.

Minions & Monsters Review: Still the Widest-Playing Movie in Athens
Minions & Monsters is Illumination's 2026 Despicable Me spin-off, sending two Minions through a stolen-spellbook accident into 1920s Hollywood stardom before a real-monster movie plot takes over. It's the best-reviewed film in the franchise's history on Rotten Tomatoes, praised chiefly for its Old Hollywood passage led by Jeff Bridges and Christoph Waltz, even as its box office closed as the series' lowest-grossing entry. In Mood's Athens screening data, it is still playing at 30 of the city's 99 tracked cinemas nearly three months after release, a wider footprint than any other film in town.

The Odyssey Review: Nolan's Epic Is Still Filling Thessaloniki Screens
Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, starring Matt Damon and Anne Hathaway, is still playing across seven Thessaloniki cinemas nine weeks after its July release, from multiplexes like Village Cinemas at Mediterranean Cosmos to smaller independent rooms. The film holds a 94% Rotten Tomatoes score and an 89 on Metacritic, though Homer translator Emily Wilson publicly criticized its emotional and psychological depth, a genuine split behind the consensus praise. Mood's screening data shows it booked into more distinct Thessaloniki venues than any other film currently tracked in the city, even as newer releases outpace it on raw screening count. Full current showtimes for The Odyssey and everything else playing in Thessaloniki are listed on Mood.

Resident Evil (2026): Zach Cregger Finally Cracks the Reboot
Resident Evil (2026) is Zach Cregger's reboot of Capcom's survival-horror franchise, following medical courier Bryan (Austin Abrams) through a viral outbreak in Raccoon City. It holds a 96% Rotten Tomatoes score, the highest of any Resident Evil film, and on Mood's data it is also the widest release in Los Angeles theaters this week, running in 101 of the 171 venues Mood tracks across the city. The film is strongest in its tense, character-driven first half and loses some momentum once the plot moves indoors for its Umbrella Corporation reveal. Mood lists full showtimes and participating theaters for Los Angeles moviegoers deciding where to see it.

Practical Magic 2 Review: Nostalgia Carries a Sequel the Story Can't
Practical Magic 2 reunites Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman as the Owens sisters, twenty-eight years after the original, with Sally choosing to hide the family's witch history from her own daughters after her husband dies from the Owens curse. Critics have been unimpressed - a Rotten Tomatoes score in the high 30s - while audiences have responded far more warmly, above 90%, largely on the strength of Bullock and Kidman's chemistry rather than the story around them. In Mood's data, it's also this week's widest release in Athens: 39 screenings across 29 cinemas and open-air venues, ahead of Fatherland and The Odyssey. Full listings are on Mood.
